Their American made product are top notch the Chinese products of the same quality can be had cheaper.
Great quality, these guys make consistently precise and accurate tools across a wide range of products including super-accurate references and rulers. I have a large set of tools from Starrett, and I find that they measure more consistently and accurately than other brands I've found. The make some great smaller stuff too (scribes, center punches, feeler gages) that hold up better than other brands.
